Lanvin Jeannie Verni

admin | Lanvin | Sunday, 08 March 2009

Once again Alber Albaz comes through for me. I was just thinking the other day I’d like to travel with a bag that can also double as a clutch for evening so I don’t have to pack as much as I usually do and here it is, my wish fulfilled! The Lanvin Jeannie Verni has a removable strap that instantly tranforms it to a clutch. Fab right? And if you’re not sick of us going on about blue yet, this will make you want to get a blue bag immediately. Look at that delectable shade of blue, it’s so yummy and fresh! The patent brown is an unusual shade and gives this basic color a kick. $1,160 at Barneys, email Christy or call her at 469-221-4725.

Lanvin Ontario Messenger

admin | Lanvin | Sunday, 08 March 2009

Dear Bag Snob,

I am a young University Professor, I am looking for a bag that will carry all of my books and papers while still looking fierce. I don’t want to look too young with a backpack, or too aged with a briefcase. What do you recommend? Thanks!

Dear Shawna,

Now that everyone is gearing up to go back to school, we have been getting a lot of questions about the perfect bag for students, as well as professors like yourself. You are absolutely right, who in their right mind would show up post high school with a backpack? And unless you are wearing a tweed coat with leather elbow patches, you should not even own a briefcase!! We of course have the perfect bag for you and it’s from one of our favorite designers, Lanvin. This suede messenger is super functional and is as fierce as they come without being overly frivolous and fussy for campus life. The flap closure makes your life easier and the short strap keeps you from looking like an actual messenger. In fact, the length of the strap is what makes this bag for me. The obvious thing to do would be to make this into a over the shoulder bag, but you lose the chic, on-the-go style. The size is great for books and papers at 15″ x 19″, not so big that it would topple you but adequate for most books (at least the ones that I read =) You can get it at Barneys for $1380.

Get Happy with Lanvin! Lanvin Happy Partage Bag

admin | Lanvin | Sunday, 08 March 2009

lanvinhappypatage.jpgIt was the Chinese Moon Festival this weekend, a time to celebrate the abundance of mother nature and life. The beginning of Fall is always a happy time for me; my son’s birthday is coming up and I have so much to celebrate in my life! What more could a person want? Except maybe a nice Happy Partage bag from Lanvin, how happy will I be with this on my arm? Made of black embossed goat skin with velvet ribbon chain link straps and “Vintage” gold toned hardware, it is a vision of femininity. Zippered pocket at back of bag to hold cell or keys and flap over closure with turnlock cylinder in black finish off the look. Generously sized at 28cm and lined in sexy black satin.

But since I am on a major bag diet, I will just be happy looking and admiring it from afar. If you are looking for a bag to give you major bag mileage, look no further. This is a timeless look and the embossed goat skin gives it a modern touch. $1,495 at MyTheresa.com.

We are totally in love with Lanvin lately. Alber Elbaz has created another gem with this London bag. The simple and tasteful structure is given a twist with cushiony leather and plexi chains, making it edgy yet maintaining its classic appeal. It is Steve McQueen cool and will be a well used bag in your collection. This snob worthy bag is a smart buy at $1195, available at Barney’s New York.

Lanvin Online at Net-a-Porter.com

We adore Alber Elbaz and are so excited for the launch of Lanvin online at Net-a-porter.com. It is a massive coup for any retailler to be able to stock the Lanvin brand online, the brand has been fiercely protective of its highly coveted collection which is frustrating for midnight shoppers but this partnership with Net-a-porter.com will allow readers around the world to have their Lanvin delivered straight to their doorstep! Bags will start arriving at the end of the month (just in time for Christmas!) but jewelry and shoes are available now! We will pray that Lanvin ready to wear will also hit cyberspace soon…….

Lanvin Bags Fall ‘06

I am a total Lanvin snob and can not get enough of Alber Elbaz! It’s one of those out of control obsessions, although being ADD and OCD is not an excuse for my compulsive Lanvin habit (according to my hubby when the amex bill arrives each month) but who cares! I felt fabulous at the launch of “Fashion on Main” last night in my silk and chiffon Lanvin dress(okay, so I was fashionably late and only made it to the after party but that’s not the point). The obsession does not end at his divine dresses, I love the quirky beaded necklaces sewn on black lace or sheer chiffon panels, the sky high stilettos, and of course Lanvin bags! This fall he shows again his love for all things jewel toned, offering slick patent leather, silky satin, and buttery soft leather bags in shades of ruby, emerald, and amethyst. Contact Lanvin for details.

Lanvin Satin Papilotte Shopper and Pochette

admin | Lanvin | Saturday, 07 March 2009

Grandma is trying to convince us to move to Alabama. I told her I need to go to NY once a week so she is looking into a private plane for us. Stay tuned… this could become a real life City Slicker story. In the meantime, I have not lost touch with reality. Say you have a long day out, shopping, running errands, meetings, whatever and in the evening you are meeting friends for dinner. So here is what you do. You get this Lanvin shopper and throw the pochette in there. It is the perfect solution for long days when you have too much stuff with you but for each activity you only need a portion of it. You keep the shopper in the car (sorry city girls) and just take the pochette with you when you run in and out of stores. Or for your meeting, you take the whole shopper with you. There is no reason to match the 2 since you will not be using them at the same time. The shopper in the bronze is the perfect day color that will go with most things and of course the anthracite pochette is your all around go-to clutch. This shopper is as cute as can be and LIGHT!! The drawstring closure allows you to change the shape and look as you wish. The foldover clutch is one of the few that actually works perfectly. In satin, it folds flat and is easier to manage. The navy stripe with the anthracite is super casual chic. Pop Satin Pochette is $995 and Papilotte Satin Shopper is $1390, both at Barneys New York.
